When I lost my hair during my second chemotherapy, I was self-conscious of how I looked, so I covered my head with scarves or hats. Sweet Tarah invited me for an Empowerment Photo Shoot, which transformed how I felt inside and allowed me to shine. When going through chemotherapy, shining is not how I would describe myself. The awesome photographer, make-up, clothes, and location were ideal. Seeing myself with make-up, without a head covering was my initial feeling of “this is me; I rock this baldness!” I proudly walked with no head cover (rather than hide my baldness) to my car, feeling energized! The photo shoot and photographer were amazing! My husband Jim, daughter Jessica and friends Courtney, Leni and Tarah cheered me on, with my other daughter Jacquie on FaceTime! I had so much fun experiencing the survivor model, twirling, punching, posing, smiling, laughing, and totally enjoying the moment. I will forever be grateful for this empowering experience Tenaciously Teal gave me and my family. This Empowerment Photo Shoot provided a metamorphosis of my spirit, my soul, and my life.Empowerment Photo Shoots are a remarkable celebration of cancer survivors as we “fight like a girl”!

When I was at a radiation appointment, I saw the information about Empowerment Shoots. My Radiologist encouraged me to reach out to Tenaciously Teal. Contacting them was one of the best decisions. They got everything set up and the first time I met Tarah was at the Empowerment Shoot. She was so kind and sweet and wanted everything to be just right. The day was so awesome getting my makeup done, for the first time ever, and wearing new clothes that had been picked out for me really made me feel so special. The Empowerment Shoot helped me feel so good about myself. I felt so beautiful, and it had been a while since I felt that way. I am thankful for Tenaciously Teal and everyone involved in that day making it so special, helping me feel beautiful and giving me a happy heart.
